Code of Ethics
Responsibility and Accountability
A member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators is personally responsible and accountable for own actions or omissions, as are his/her employees and other persons paid to assist a legal research or investigation. It must be ensured that the latter adhere to this Code of Ethics.
Honesty and Integrity
A member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators shall act with honesty, integrity and a member shall never knowingly cause harm /directly or indirectly / or defame the professional reputation or practice of colleagues, clients, employers, or any member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators .
Caution and Thoroughness
A member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators shall verify the credentials of all applicants for a professional services to ensure that they have lawful and moral reasons to request any professional services and to preserve forever the clients’ confidences under any and all circumstances except where the clients’ interest is contrary to the criminal law of the country where a member acts.
Conflict of Interest
A member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators to be having a personal or conflicting interest in any matter in which he/she is involved shall disclose that interest, if it is in conflict with the interests of own clients.
Acting within the Law
A member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators shall obey the law and refrain from carrying out any act that he knows, or ought to know, is unlawful, or contrary to The Associations policy.
Authority, Respect and Courtesy
No member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators is to abuse his/her position and must respect the rights of all individuals.
A member of International Association for Legal Research and Investigators shall act with self control and tolerance, treating everyone with whom he/she comes into contact, during the course of professional activity , with respect, fairness and courtesy.
Equality
A member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators shall act with fairness and impartiality and shall not discriminate unlawfully on the grounds of sex, race, colour, language, religion or belief, political or other opinion, national or social origin, association with a national minority, disability, age, sexual orientation, property, birth or other status.
General Conduct
A member of an International Association for Legal Research and Investigators shall act in a professional manner and he /she shall treat information with which was/will be entrusted during the course of professional duty with respect and access or disclose it only for the purposes for which it is intended; attending to all instructions within the principles of the prevailing privacy legislation .
